Bishop Ernest E. Hunter

Bishop Ernest E. Hunter was born in Bronx, NY to Minister Gregory and Camilla Hunter. He is the fifth child of eleven brothers and sisters. He married Apostle Laequinla Hunter in September 1997.

Bishop Ernest Hunter along with his wife, Apostle Laequinla Hunter, are the Pastors and Founders of God’s Anointed Touch Ministries as well as the Founders of The Churches of the Beginning, Inc. God’s Anointed Touch Ministries, is also known as GAT Ministries, where the mission is to lead the people to live spirit filled lives and compel others to come to Christ. Bishop Hunter is the Founder of Hunter’s Production Music & Arts, an established production company that brings national Gospel artists to the Virginia area and host to one of the premier Gospel Showcases in the state, the HP Virginia Gospel Showcase.

Bishop Hunter received his training by serving in many capacities in the church such as Sunday school teacher, prayer band member, teaching bible study and serving as minister of music. Bishop Hunter also served as an armorbearer to Pastor James Whittaker, Sr., for several years at Mount Oliver C.O.G.I.C. Currently Bishop Hunter is the Chaplain of the Virginia Gospel Announcers Guild (VA-GAG). Bishop Hunter is also the Vice-Chairman of Community Harvest Outreach, Inc. Community Harvest offers programs and services to address the needs of populations from low-income families and communities.

He has had the honor of playing for several national recording artists including LaShun Pace, Norman Hutchison, Marquis Edgerton, Robert Holland and the Drifters, Tyrone Powell and the Gospel Harmoneers of Ivor. He has also shared the stage with the Canton Spirituals, Doc McKenzie and the HiLites, Lee Williams and the QCs, Dottie Peoples, Dorothy Norwood, Shirley Caesar, Douglas Miller, Luther Barnes and the Sunset Jubilaires, and Ricky Dillard to name a few.

The Lord blessed Bishop Hunter to tour in at least 17 different states to minister through song. He has had the honor of doing recording projects with Tyrone Powell and Friends in Unity, Mighty Pearly Gates, Joy Mass Choir, Robert Holland and the Drifters, Ronnie Whitfield and the Revive Singers, Gospel Harmoneers of Ivor and Jessie Montgomery and Simply Praise.

More than this, Bishop Hunter is a visionary and trailblazer in the Spirit, provoking men and women to fulfill God’s mandate on their lives and live a life of integrity. Bishop Hunter’s favorite saying is Always Stay Focused and his favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not to thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
